We shopped like crazy at the stores for an ottoman just like this, nodda, nowhere to be found. Thus, took a chance when saw this one was precisely what we'd been looking for all along - cool beans! Well, except for the risk we took buying our first piece of such furniture online, sight unseen, paying shipping of $50+, but, we took the chance and boy are we glad we did!

It's very nice quality - lid operation is just great, no worries at all with the hinges, they don't feel cheap at all when operating it. Appears to be solid construction. Love the weight - not too heavy, not too light, just right. Perfect size to sit on the sofa and prop those feet up - ahh. Color is indeed a very deep brown, espresso color actually. And for $90 + shipping, you can't beat it, especially when you can't find one anywhere else - fab buy, glad we did it!

First off, the ottoman arrived damaged with bent hinges so that the lid did not close properly. After straightening the hinges and relocating them, I noticed that part of the problem may have been that one of the panels for the base of the ottoman was either warped or cracked so that the side bowed inward. I contacted the seller, having to leave a v/m and wait for a return call, but the callback was very prompt; within an hour or so. After demanding either a replacement or discount, I was able to settle on a 25% discount for the damage and trouble. This was handled very promptly; within 24 hours. After less than 1 month of use, there are stitches on the top that are coming loose. While I was content with the seller's handling of the issues with this item, I would never recommend it or any of the other items from this manufacturer. I did feel that the ottoman could have been packaged more securely, but I cannot say if it was the manufacturer or the shipper that did the real damage to the item. Last words...Do Not Buy This Ottoman.
