If you're a frequent traveller like me, you know you need adaptors in foreign countries to plug things in and charge cell phones, computers etc. So many places have inferior sockets, especially anything less than brand new 4 or 5 star hotels. I've used low quality generic adaptors many times and finally got fed up with the plugs falling out of the sockets, especially when weighted down with other cables or power supplies. Not only is it annoying but it's also really bad for electronics, having the power go on and off intermittently. Finally a really well made adaptor that stays put! The plugs are made to a very high standard and the fit into a socket is a lot tighter than others. A recent trip to Europe (I used 3 different ones) proved this. In direct comparison to a generic adaptor the solidity of the connection was vastly superior. The extra outlet on the top also proved very handy without having to use an extra distribution adaptor. Why would you plug in a $1000 laptop with a 99 cent adaptor and risk hard drive damage?
As an audiophile, I also know that better connections make better sound. Anyone who uses high quality aftermarket cables knows this. Power supply connections are no different. Trust me, if you care about what you're plugging in, this is the only adaptor to get. Also, any outlets that can be grounded, are. A lot of adaptors have no ground connection, if there's something there it's usually a plastic pin. In any case I bought the whole set and am very happy with them. For a few extra bucks, they are worth every penny. Buy these, you won't be sorry!

I got this plug for use in Japan. I wasn't sure if I needed an adapter or just a plug adapter but I figured I would try this out and deal with it later if it didn't work. Thankfully, it did. I've been able to use this for my 3-pronged Mac charger to have it fit any outlet in Japan. Great and useful product. Don't waste your money on an adapter when this is more than adequate.

This adapter is very high quality. I bought it for a trip to Thailand, and the 5-star reviews (especially the review which specifically mentioned Thailand) convinced me that I should purchase this one. While I could see from the photo that the plug was the U.S. "style" plug, I thought that there was something which would adjust it for Thailand's outlets (which I assumed were different than U.S. outlets). However, after receiving the adapter, I couldn't see a way to adjust it for a different type wall outlet.
I contacted the seller, and Erik of Audio Equip responded immediately. He indicated that the adapter is exactly as seen in the photo and that the outlets in Thailand are like those in the U.S. (except for polarized connections). He pointed out that if you have electronics with a polarized plug, this adapter will allow you to plug them into the wall outlets in Asia, which normally are not prepared for polarized connectors. Also, you might need this adapter if you need a second outlet, as it has two ports. But if your electronics only have the regular (not polarized) plug, no adapter is needed. I only intend to take one electronic device, the recharger for my camera batteries, on this trip. Since it does not have a polarized plug, I really don't need an adapter, and have returned it.
I can't say enough nice things about this seller. Audio Equip responded very quickly to my inquiry, were very informative, and provided all of the information necessary for my returning this item. I will definitely buy from this seller again. However, if I have any doubts or questions about the item, I will contact the company first.
One other clarification might help relatively new travelers like myself. Adapters only provide a mechanism for plugging in your equipment. Adapters do not change the voltage. If the country that you're visiting has a different voltage, you need a converter. I knew this from researching the Internet for adapters, but Audio Equip pointed out that this causes confusion for some travelers. Again, this is a great company to deal with! I really appreciate how they handled this issue.

IMPORTANCE: The plug looks very similar to the US plug standard. With the difference: The adapter allows plug in a polarized plug into wall outlets in Asia etc. (Polarized = one blade on the plug slightly wider). COMPATIBLE COUNTRIES: The adapter Type A/B can be used in the following countries: USA, Canada, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, northern South America (Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and parts of Brazil), Japan, Taiwan and Saudi Arabia. (Exceptions may occur). DESIGN/FEATURES: The Adapter is designed with TWO electrical receptacles outlets (ports) allow you to plug-in two electrical device at once. The main outlet at the front is a universal receptacle that accepts all types of connectors (Including: 2-Prong US "polarized", 3-Prong US grounded, European, UK, AUS and India plug standards. But not the large South African plug). The second outlet at the top of the adapter accepts 2-Prong US plugs (polarized too) and European 2-Prong plugs. USE THE ADAPTER: Please Note! The adapter does not change the Voltage. Please check the voltage standard for the travel destination and use a Voltage converter with the adapter if needed. (example, Europe use mainly 230 Volts).
