I have the large tri-stone that I purchased sometime in the late 80's. Unfortunately, I can not locate it, and my knives needed to be sharpened real bad. I was satisfied over 20 years ago and still am satisfied. This is the only thing you need in order to sharpen and retain the edge of your knives. Unless you lose this, this is a one time purchase, and is a can't miss purchase

I am a professionally trained chef, used to sharpening my blades on industry quality tri-stones. This one has worked out fantastically for my house, has a great sized well for mineral oil, and doesnt slide as long as you have all four of the rubber things on the bottom. Unfortunately, the one I received only had three rubber stoppers for the bottom, otherwise I would have rated this five stars. A damp cloth works well as a substitute for the rubber dohiggamajiggers.
